The agreement was signed in Madrid at the event organised by the Hungarian Embassy in collaboration with the Official College of Architects of Madrid (COAM), which presented the investment program for sports facilities carried out by the Hungarian Government. In that event, Mr. Csaba Tóth, Chief Investment Officer of the Office of the Government Commissioner, announced the current ongoing sports infrastructure projects, which were subsequently presented by the Hungarian architects responsible for their design and implementation. The Hungarian government launched the State Stages Investment Program in 2013, which provided for the remodelling of 26 facilities in the 2014-2016 budget cycle. The program had an important effect on the development of the economy, with investments reaching 500 million euros, which greatly contributed to stimulating the construction sector as well as the revival of its industry and the Hungarian economy after the crisis. In parallel, the construction of other important sports facilities, such as the swimming centre and other venues for the FINA 2017 World Swimming Championships are underway.
